CHALLENGES

Build Two Kinds Of Unity - Natural and Spiritual

  1. 1. The concept of unity embodies the idea of order.  As practical as can it be, setting your stuff in order often has a godly ripple effect.  At times God instructed His people to reestablish or rebuild or repair the temple before He would meet with them.  Let’s bring this home with the challenge of organizing one of your spaces.  Organize your room, locker, closet, garage, toys, tools or whatever.  Ideally, you should attack an area for which you are responsible.

  1. 2. God draws close to the humble, but He resists the proud.  Scripture tells us that we can humble ourselves.  Let’s try it, especially in pursuit of unity.  Realize that we have nothing of which to be proud.  All that is good in us comes from the Lord.  Our best efforts lie in staying out of God’s way as He builds His character in us.  Humble yourself for this next challenge.

Is there someone with whom you have a strained relationship?  Do you have an estrangement with a friend, an acquaintance, a family member, a parent, an annoying younger sibling or antagonizing older sibling with whom you are out of sorts?  Is God the sustainer of division or the restorer of relationships?

Pray for your humility and then continue seeking God for His plan of unity between you and that other person.
